The way to healthier skin

Impetigo - What is it?

Impetigo is a contagious skin infection most common among children. It is usually found around the mouth, cheeks and nose. Often it may spread to other areas, as evidenced by a red streak between the lesion and the regional lymph nodes. At first the skin reddens and bumps appear which develop into tiny blisters. Later, the blisters turn into raw sores which become large, sticky, honey-colored crusts. Impetigo is neither dangerous nor painful. Since there can be complications, children, especially infants, should get follow-up care from a medical professional.

Causes

Impetigo is an infection caused by bacteria. It is passed on through direct contact or sharing towels. Hygiene is of utmost importance in preventing its spread.

Nutrition

Offer the child nutritious whole foods, particularly fresh vegetables, soups, grains and fish to help fight the infection and promote healing. Fish provides the vitamins A, D and E, which help speed recovery. Eliminate refined sugars as a household rule.

Treatment

Gently wash the infected skin with clean gauze and antiseptic soap daily.

Apply  Thentix™ 'ATouchHoney’ frequently throughout the day. Vitamins A and E are important for the healing of skin tissue. Calendula prevents infection and speeds healing. Royal jelly effectively stunts bacteria growth.

Other Suggestions

-         Take 1 tsp. of colloidal silver twice daily

-         Bathe twice daily with soap and water

-         Use separate towels for the patient

-         Change the patients towels, pillowcases, and sheets after the first day of treatment, and launder clothing daily for the first two days.

-         Drink 2 oz. of aloe vera juice three times daily.

Ashy Skin - What is it?

We all know what it means to have dry skin, it means that you skin cracks, your skin has lost a lot of moisture and it, looks ashy and in some cases the cracked skin can lead to more serious problems such as infection.

Your skin has two parts, the epidermis, and the dermis. The epidermis is outer waterproof, protective layer. The dermis is the inner layer that gives the skin its strength and elasticity. When you lose moisture your skin begins to show it in the form of dry skin. And in some cases, especially with African Americans you can develop ashy skin.

Ashy skin, which is called keritanized dehydrated disorder, is the worse form of dry skin because it is so visible. I remember a friend’s mother always talking about children who had white elbows and knees. She had a saying “no child of mine is going to be ashy.” And this condition is more visible on African Americans because it clashes with their skin tone. The most important question is how do you get rid of it.

One of the most important things is to drink water. It helps to build moisture within your body. That is common knowledge but you also need a skin care regimen.

Face- use a gentle exfoliation on a daily to weekly basis with a mild scrub. Follow with Thentix™  'A Touch of Honey'.

Body- use a non-alkaline body shampoo, superfatted soap or unscented moisturizing bath soap. The bath or shower water must be warm, and never hot and not for too long. Pat your body dry but don’t dry your skin thoroughly because while your skin is still damp, apply  Thentix™ to maintain all the newly aborsed moisture into the skin.

Basically if you have dry skin during this time of the year it is important to use Thentix™ so you wont have to worry about conditions such as ashy skin. It's not a very attractive condition to have and your skin will thank you by being smooth and healthy, which is good because soon the summer will be here and then there will be nowhere to hide.

Dry, Cracked and Rough Feet

Dry, cracked feet (xeorosis) is a condition that occurs primarily on the bottom and outside edges of the heels of your feet. In some cases the cracks can be quite deep, but difficult to see if the dry skin has built up around them. Some people are more prone to dry skin on the heels and soles of their feet than others, but almost everyone experiences foot cracks at some point in their lives.

These foot problems occur because of the body’s inability to provide natural oils and moisture to the area and the skin’s reduced capacity to retain moisture. Research shows that the problem has a variety of causes including aging, inactive sweat glands, inadequate water intake, poor eating habits, harsh chemical/detergent based soaps, obesity, long periods of standing, and exposure to weather via open backed shoes and sandals.

If neglected and allowed to persist, untreated cracks may deepen to the extent that the dermis layer of the skin is affected. Feet may then become extremely uncomfortable, making standing or walking very painful. Deep cracks may eventually bleed and become infected, leading to more serious foot problems. Especially in the case of diabetics, or persons with impaired vascular sufficiency, treatment by a doctor may be necessary.

Regular treatment with  Thentix™ ‘A Touch of Honey’ helps the skin stay moist. The honey plumps up skin cells to help draw moisture and retain it. The ingredients in Thentix promote healing of the dry cracked skin.

Psoriasis

Psoriasis – What is it?

Psoriasis (sore-i-ah-sis) is a common immune-mediated chronic skin disease that comes in different forms and varying levels of severity.

It is not contagious. It is frequently found on the knees, elbows, scalp, hands, and feet or lower back.

What does it look like?

Basically the immune system is involved and appears to be overactive in a way that causes inflammation. In certain kinds of psoriasis, it also has a pimple-ish (pustular  posoriasis) or burned (erythrodermic) appearance.

Psoriasis can also cause intense itching and burning.

What causes it?

Certain people carry genes that make them more likely to develop posriasis, and a “trigger” makes the psoriasis appear in those who have these genes.

Possible “triggers”:

-         Stress – Physical and emotional stress may precipitate psoriasis and are hard to avoid.

-         Injury – Psoriasis localizes around the site of physical, chemical, electrical, infective and inflammatory injury as it heals.

-         Infection – Infections may cause flares of psoriasis. Sometimes, treatment of the infection may result in clearing or improvement of the psoriasis.

-         Medication – Several medications can precipitate or aggravate psoriasis such as Lithium (an antidepressant), Beta blockers (used to treat high blood pressure), anti-malarials, stopping (oral corticosteroids), and Stopping strong (topical corticosteroids).

Is there a CURE?

There is to date no cure for psoriasis but satisfactory control of the disease is possible for most people with regular use of Thentix™ ‘A Touch of Honey’.

Some people have a single episode of psoriasis that clears after a few weeks or months and never recurs. Then there are forms of psoriasis that run a fluctuating course with periods of marked improvement and even complete clearance.

A variance of healing can be found with each individual.

Dear Alma,

This note is being sent to you to express my appreciation for the product I received this morning via UPS. My first exposure to Thentix™  skin conditioning cream was at a booth at the ‘Big E’ in Massachusetts last fall. The marketing people were handing out little samples on small spoons, so I listened to what they said and tried it on my hands. I am a 49-year-old female that has been plagued with psoriasis most of my life. Many different skin doctors have prescribed a lot of expensive creams but to no avail. Your Thentix™ ‘A Touch of Honey’ has given me dramatic results. It has helped reduce the redness and relieve the itchiness. It has taken away that raw look my hands always had and no more skin splitting and bleeding around the nails. With faithful use of your Honey cream my hands look wonderful and not something I’m ashamed and embarrassed by. Thank you for a truly wonderful product.

Yours truly,

Barbara C.
